The head of the Entebbe based Miracle Center Church pastor Aaron Mutebi has hailed the UPDF for consistently exhibiting high standards of discipline and professionalism in its outstanding contribution to peace and stability in Uganda and the region.
Speaking at a function to commemorate his 50th birthday celebration at the church in Entebbe on Sunday, pastor Mutebi relived his personal experiences of torture and brutality at the hands of past militaries, and commended the UPDF for respecting human rights while remaining decisive in the performance of its duties. He thanked the Special Forces Command for maintaining a cordial and smooth working relationship with the people of Entebbe, unlike past armies which he said were anti-people.
The Commander of the Special Forces Command, Brig. Muhoozi Kainerugaba who was the chief guest at the function, also launched a book written by pastor Mutebi titled ‘Born to Die.’ The book is an autobiography in which the pastor recounts his life’s journey such as narrowly surviving death at birth and his numerous life struggles.
In his remarks, Brig. Kainerugaba thanked pastor Mutebi for finding time to write a book despite his busy pastoral duties and urged the Christians in attendance to emulate the example of their church leader.
