Uganda Special Forces Command have today, Saturday, cleaned and renovated Mulago hospital wards in commemoration of the army day Tarehe Sita which takes place each year.

According to Sarah Kagingo, the President’s Special Assistant for Communications, Tarehe Sita will be marked on February 6, 2014 in Buhweju district under the theme: National Consciousness and Pan-Africanism is the cornerstone for African Peace, Stability and Transformation.
Sabiiti Muzeyi Magyenyi, the deputy commander Special Forces Command, says that these are some of the community services that they are carrying out to show care and love to the community.
“We will extend these services to other districts like Kisoro, Bushenyi, Masaka, Mubende, Mpigi, among others. Other activities will include male circumcision aimed at reducing the infection rate of HIV/AIDS, and immunising children as a way of giving back to the communities,” Magyeni noted.
He also called upon all the able stakeholders to come and join them during this noble cause as they mark their day.
Among other activities they carried out, included the fixing of security lights, cleaning and fixing beds in the wards; causality ward as priority, labour ward laboratory, paediatrics and the outpatient department.

Today: February 1, 2014
There will be a general cleaning exercise of Mulago national referral hospital Kampala and its immediate environs.
Additionally, major lighting repairs in the critical areas of the hospital will also be conducted to replace any dysfunctional bulbs, tubes or switches.
February 3, 2014
A medical outreach will be established at Kasenyi Landing site in Entebbe to provide general medical services to fishermen and other members of the community who live in the area.
February 5, 2014
There will be a general cleaning exercise of Entebbe town by officers from both the Special Forces Command and the UPDF Airforce.
On the same day, medical drugs and other sundries will also be donated to Entebbe Grade B Hospital as a contribution from the Special Forces Command.
February 6, 2104
The pinnacle of the armed forces week will be marked by a route-match of officers and men from the Special Forces Command through Entebbe Town to the Mayors’ Gardens followed by a luncheon.
The Chief Guest to grace this historic event of the day will be Hon. Ali Kirunda Kivejinja.
All the activities on the specified dates begin at 0800 hours and close at 1700 hours.
